Our latest Winter Seasonal is everything you‘ve come to expect from Richie and the team. We were thrilled to get a supply of Emmer wheat from Cornstown House in Ashbourne for this brew. Emmer is an ancient grain and was very important to Ireland’s first Neolithic farmers, and now brewers on Dublin’s Northside! The wheat is estimated to be at least 10,000 years old and having it part of the grain bill gives this stout a unique link to the past.
It’s a well-balanced beer with lovely notes of bitter coffee and dark chocolate as well as a subtle nuttiness thanks to the Emmer wheat.
